BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - One of Biloxi's Hurricane Katrina eyesores is coming down, and right now it's not clear what will take its place. Crews are tearing down the old Fountain restaurant and Fountain Square office building in downtown.
Biloxi officials say demolition came after a push to get owners to either fix or tear down Katrina damaged buildings. The Fountain's owners chose to tear down.
The property is owned the by Copeland Estate. Attorney Michael Cavanaugh said the owners wanted to get rid of the eyesore and improve the look of the city, but currently have no plans for the property.
