BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

A Biloxi man accused of downloading child pornography to a computer at his home, where he lived with his parents, will be moving to a new home behind bars.

Back in June, Sean Edward Dietz, 25, entered an open plea to one count of possession of child porn. An open plea means he refused to accept the state's recommended sentence and instead threw himself upon the mercy of the court.

Monday, Harrison County Circuit Court Judge Lisa Dodson sentenced Dietz to 20 years in prison, with 15 years suspended. Five years will be served behind bars. Once released, Dietz must register as a sex offender and be supervised for another five years.

Dietz was also ordered to pay a $2,000 fine, plus $300 to the Crime Victim Compensation Fund.

"As long as criminals are using technology to break the law, we will use it to catch them and put them behind bars," Attorney General Jim Hood said.

Dietz was arrested by the Attorney General's Cyber Crime Unit, with assistance from the Harrison County Sheriff's Department and the Biloxi Police Department.
