GAUTIER, MS (WLOX) - Gautier Police believe a cat nap may have helped them catch a suspected cat burglar passing through town this weekend.
Around 1:30 Sunday morning, Lieutenant Scott Wilson found a man sleeping in a car at the Graveline Boat ramp. A quick records check revealed that the driver, 21 year old Terry Robert Hough of Illinois, was wanted in his home state for felony theft.
"He told us there was another subject in the car that had gone walking," said Lt. Wilson.
While he was being arrested, Officer Nicholas Crocker noticed several vehicles in the area with interior lights on, and 48 year old Forrest Charles Bone of Florida walking nearby.
"Officer Crocker got out to speak with Mr. Bone, and found him to be in possession of several items stolen from those vehicles," said Lt. Wilson.
Police charged Forrest Charles Bone with two counts of vehicle burglary and Terry Robert Hough was arrested for a felony theft warrant out of Illinois.
Both men were taken to the Jackson County Adult Detention Center. As of Monday morning, both were awaiting a court hearing.
