WIGGINS, MS (WLOX) - Wiggins police said the suspect accused of fleeing a traffic stop and attempting to ram his vehicle into an officer early Monday morning was found at his sister in-law's home.

Wiggins Police Chief Matt Barnett said, the incident happened after the officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on 21-year-old John Samuel Bond. Bond reportedly fled, leading the officer into a residential area off West College Avenue. Bond then hit a dead end and turned around and allegedly tried to charge the officer.

That's when the officer shot at the vehicle to stop it. The officer shattered Bond's windshield and broke a headlight, but Bond was still able to get away, for a few hours, Barnett said.

When officers arrived at Bond's sister in-law, Katy Elizabeth Burn's home, she reportedly argued with officers and struck one on the chest. Officers were able to arrest both Bond and Burn.

According to Barnett, Bond just got out of a jail a week ago and had been serving time for theft.

Bond was charged with resisting arrest, attempted assault on a police officer, and fleeing from a law officer. Burn was charged with disorderly conduct and assault on a police officer.
