Cruisin' The Coast is the largest special event in Mississippi, and it keeps getting bigger each year.
Organizers and volunteers got the inside scoop about Cruisin the Coast 2004 Wednesday at the Grand Casino in Gulfport. They found out what is being planned to make this year's Cruisin' The Coast a success.
Three new sponsors have been added to the event: The Peoples Bank, Grand Casino Gulfport, and the Mississippi Gulf Coast Chevrolet dealers.
Organizers also announced a special treat, with the addition of a new stop for cruisers along the coast. Coleman Avenue in Waveland will be a pit stop venue. The venue is located in the downtown shopping district.
Cruisin' the Coast Executive Director Gene Oswalt said the new route will help relieve some of the traffic pressure on Bay St. Louis.
The 9th annual Cruisin' The Coast will be held October 3rd through the 10th. More than 2,000 cars are already registered for this year's event.
