Grab your bicycle and helmet and get ready to pedal across South Mississippi with the Gulf Coast Bicycle Club. The group is taking registration for the 2012 Southern Magnolia 100, October 13th, 2012.
The ride will start at the Woolmarket Community Center in North Biloxi, Mississippi. This is Southern Mississippi's premier bicycle event that include routes that range from family friendly rides to a 100 mile challenge.
GCBC members Doug Heller and Allison Hinkley were guests on the WLOX 4 O'clock Show Friday with details on the event. Early registration runs through September 30, 2012.
The Gulf Coast Bicycle Club exists to encourage cycling as a fun, safe, and healthy sport in all its facets. They promote and organize both competitive and social events, and endeavor to establish and maintain safe and interesting cycling routes/trails on and off roads in South Mississippi.
As bicycle advocates, they abide by the same rules of the road as motorized vehicles and serve to educate the public that cycling is a keenly viable alternative form of transportation.
