GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -

Gulfport will welcome home its "golden girl" Saturday night, as Olympic Gold Medalist Brittney Reese arrives at the Gulfport-Biloxi International Airport.

Brittney's flight is scheduled to arrive by 6:30 p.m. So city and airport officials are asking well wishers to arrive by 6:00 p.m. and carpool, if at all possible. Complimentary parking vouchers will be provided.

The Gulfport High Admiral marching band will perform. City of Gulfport Mayor Schloegel, Congressman Steven Palazzo and others will give brief remarks to welcome her home. The ceremony will take place inside the first floor of the airport. Gulf Coast residents are encouraged to attend, carrying American flags and signs of congratulations.

Brittney attended Gulfport High School, Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College and Ole Miss. Brittney is the first student of the Track and Field family at Ole Miss to win an Olympic Gold Medal.
