Biloxi man killed in accident on Hwy 67

Posted: Updated:
HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -

Larry William Rice Jr., 37, of Biloxi died following a traffic accident around 11 Tuesday night, according to Mississippi Highway Patrol Troop K spokesperson Ben Seibert.

Seibert said, a GMC Yukon and Oldsmobile collided on Highway 67 in Harrison County near St. Patrick's High School.

The driver of the GMC Yukon was traveling on the right, southbound lane of Hwy 67 and Rice, who was driving the Oldsmobile, attempted to cross the southbound lane of Hwy 67 onto Three Rivers Road, according to Seibert. That's when the two vehicles reportedly collided.

Seibert said the GMC Yukon hit the passenger's side of Rice's car.

"After impact the Yukon ran off the road and overturned and the Oldsmobile came to rest off the west side of the road way," Seibert said. "No passengers were in either vehicle."

The driver of the GMC Yukon was transported for moderate injuries.

This accident is still under investigation.
