D'Iberville was unable to contain Lake Charles at the Southwestern Region Little League Baseball Tournament Saturday evening at Norcross Stadium in Waco, Texas.
The Louisiana champs pounded out 9 runs in the bottom of the first to basically put the game away. The game was called in the top of the fourth inning with Lake Charles holding a commanding 14-0 lead.
Louisiana shut down D'Iberville's bats and limited our local youngsters to two hits on the day. was able to crack two hits on the day and drop to 1 and 1 in Pool A play. The Mississippi champs aren't out of the tournament and face New Mexico 8:30 Sunday night.
New Mexico has dropped two straight games and have failed to score a run.
