GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - The Steps Coalition regularly holds community meetings to discuss issues pertaining to the Port of Gulfport. At tonight's meeting, coalition members will be joined by members of the port staff.
The hope is that by bringing the two groups together, Steps Coalition members can get an update on port expansion plans, and hear about jobs being created with the $600 million community development block grant awarded the port authority.
Tuesday's meeting is at the Good Deeds Community Center on Madison Street in Gulfport. It begins at 6:00 pm. And the meeting is open to the public.
WLOX News will have a crew at the community meeting. You'll hear what the Steps Coalition learns on WLOX News at 10:00.
A news release from the Steps Coalition describes the group as "a locally governed coalition of 35 non-profit and local community members whose mission is to build a democratic movement to create communities worth calling home."
