Todd Harrell, bassist for the rock band Three Doors Down, was arrested Thursday morning in D'Iberville and charged with driving under the influence.

D'Iberville Police Chief Wayne Payne said the 40-year-old was driving a black Cadillac on Lemoyne Boulevard when he failed to stop at the intersection with Gorenflo Road. Payne said Harrell's car hit the back of a silver Toyota truck driven by Darryl Thibodeaux. Both vehicles were heavily damaged.

Thibodeaux was taken to Ocean Springs Hospital after complaining of neck and back pain.

Harrell was taken to the D'Iberville Police Department where he consented to a blood test. He was charged with DUI (other) and not wearing a seatbelt.

"We believe him to be driving under the influence of an unknown substance. It is not believed to be alcohol," Public Information Officer Clay Jones said.

Harrell has since posted a $1,000 bond set by Judge Fountain.
