BAY ST. LOUIS, MS (WLOX) - Two Waveland residents are lucky to be alive after the truck they were riding in collided with a train around 9:15 Saturday morning in Bay St. Louis.
Deborah and Kenneth Kennedy are both in stable condition this evening according to a spokesperson at Memorial Hospital.
Officials on the scene said Kenneth Kennedy was driving northbound over the tracks at Toulme Street when the train struck the truck.
They both had to be extricated from the back window of the pickup.
A man who witnessed the crash from his house said he saw the truck fly as high as the double containers on the train and told his wife to call 911.
There are no crossing rails at the intersection and residents say it is extremely dangerous and there have been several wrecks there before.
