BILOXI, MS (WLOX) -

Saints fans across South Mississippi are rejoicing after news broke Drew Brees signed a five year contract with the New Orleans Saints.

Willie Lee was shopping at Edgewater Mall when he found out the news and he broke out in song and dance, "Who Dat! Who Dat! Who Dat!"

Carl Knoll learned about the deal while browsing memorabilia in Gulf Coast Cards. "Hallelujah, I can sleep tonight, I won't have to watch the news until midnight."

News of the $100 million contract spread fast. With a smile on his face, season ticket holder Nazem Dahab said, "It's a hundred million reasons to be excited and 60 million of them are guaranteed."

Saints lovers who stopped by to pick up memorabilia Friday left with more than just gear, they left with huge grins and a feeling of relief.

Knoll said, "I tell you, I kept saying Monday is the day, I was getting ready to pass the hat out around here and see if we could raise the money."

All the fans agree Brees earned every penny of it.

Owner of Gulf Coast Cards Matt Helms said, "I know it's a lot of money, but in comparison to his field and other players with his skill set, I think it is a fair deal for him."

Lee said, "He's a role model, everyone looks up to him, he is great, he keeps the fans and everyone happy."

And now that the Saints have secured the quarterback Who Dat lovers are certain their team will go all the way.

Helms said, "They kind of have the odds stacked against them, but sometimes when your back is against the wall you do amazing things. I really still believe the Saints can host the Super Bowl in New Orleans this year."

Young said, "Bet your money on that, because I am."
