The public is invited to a monthly Disability Network Meeting. This month's guest speaker is Kathy Newman, Director of Mill Creek Home & Community Waiver Program in Long Beach. She will be speaking on the Bridge to Independence, a new program to assist persons all types of disabilities (intellectual and developmental, physical, and mental illness) who are residents of nursing homes, intermediate care facilities, or other institutions to explore community living options. This program can provide the needed tools for individuals to become independent. This is important information; please invite those who would benefit.
The Disability Network Meetings are open to the public. The purpose of these meetings is to form a partnership between organizations with specific services for those with disabilities and to exchange ideas on how to better assist those with disabilities living in our community. The meetings are held from 3:30-4:45pm on the 3rd Thursday's of each month at the Knight Nonprofit Center, 11975 Seaway Rd, Gulfport, usually in the banquet room.
