Shooting ends in tragedy for a Biloxi family

It's WLOX News Director Brad Kessie.  We're starting to piece together some of the details behind the shooting death of a Biloxi teen.  Her name still hasn't been released.  But how police think she died is now being discussed.  If you go to WLOX.com, you'll read about the arrest of the young girl's step-brother. Biloxi police tell us his name is Jonathan Morales.  And he's reportedly been charged with manslaughter.

It wasn't too long ago that on the opening day of shrimp season, you could drive along Highway 90 and see a sea of fishing boats trawling the Mississippi Sound for fresh gulf shrimp.  Back then, a thousand boats would work the waters.  Today, the 2012 shrimp season opened. And the DMR counted 210 vessels out in the water.

Are you ready for the start of the 2012 hurricane season?  State emergency responders held an exercise today to make sure they're ready.  They called their storm Natasha.  You'll see how this drill will benefit us on WLOX News at 6:00.

Facebook alerted us to some great news for the local band Rosco Bandana.  Hard Rock International is launching Hard Rock Records, an in-house record label for the cafe, hotel and casino chain. Rosco Bandana is its first signing.  A debut album will be released in September, and the local band will perform at a kickoff party for the label June 19 at Hard Rock Cafe Nashville.
