Smell those shrimp they're beginning to boil...

It's WLOX News Director Brad Kessie.  If you're by a TV right now, flip on WLOX News.  Jimmy Buffett is about to perform for invited guests at Margaritaville's opening.  And our plan is to show you excerpts from that concert.

The Margaritaville debut has Steve Phillips quoting Buffett music.  He sent me an email a short time ago that said the party is getting started "Down Around Biloxi." Others in the newsroom reminded me the VIP party started at 5:00, because "It's Five O'Clock Somewhere."

It should be quite a night for Parrot Heads, for Margaritaville employees, and for South Mississippi. You'll see their celebration on WLOX News at 5:00, 6:00, 6:30 and WLOX News at 10:00.

Dive teams pulled a body from the Tchoutacabouffa River this afternoon.  What we're being told is the swimmer they found initially disappeared near the Bluffs.  We'll have the latest information about this apparent drowning on WLOX News and on WLOX.com.  By the way, the Bluffs is the same area where a 20-year-old lost his life last month.

We saw something at Grasslawn today we haven't seen in quite some time.  Work crews were at the replica home, replacing Grasslawn's deck boards.  You may recall the City of Gulfport ran into problems with warped boards when the historic home was re-built after Hurricane Katrina.  And for months, a legal fight prevented repair work from starting.  We're told the new porch boards are made of a plastic-like material rather than wood.

Have a good evening.

With heavy rainstorms come nasty drainage. The water coming through a culvert in Bay St. Louis may not be raw sewage, but it’s close. But a pilot project idea in Hancock County could let nature clean up the mess.
