(Starkville)_ The Georgia Bulldogs grabbed a 7-1 lead over Mississippi State after 6 and a-half innings before Mississippi State plated 5 runs in the bottom of the 7th to close the gap. There was no more scoring the Coach Ron Polk's Bulldogs droped to 9 and 13 in SEC play.
Mississippi State (28-19) must win the next two games to improve their chances of cracking the SEC Tournament.
With the win Georgia (31-15) improved to 13 and 9 in the SEC East.
Alan Johnson took the loss for Mississippi State. He gave up 7 runs on 7 hits in 6 and 1/3 innings.
Brad Corley drove in 2 runs on three hits, including his 16th homer, which leads the SEC.
On Saturday Steve Gendron will try getting his 300th career hit. He was 2 for 5 Friday night.
