OCEAN SPRINGS, MS (WLOX) -

A 17-year-old Ocean Springs High School student was killed Sunday night in a single car accident on Old CCC Camp Road. It happened about half a mile west of Riley Road.

Daegan Stallworth was the driver, and was pronounced dead on the scene. Two other passengers were taken to the hospital. One is a 17-year-old girl, who is not being identified. The other was Chase Braddock, 19.

Police said their preliminary investigation shows that speed was a contributing factor in the accident. They said the vehicle was traveling west on Old CCC Camp Road, when it left the roadway, and struck a culvert causing the vehicle to go airborne. The vehicle then collided with a power pole and rolled over several times.

The conditions of the other two victims were not yet available at this time.
