Gasoline Spill Backs Up Hwy 90 Traffic

There's a traffic nightmare in Pascagoula Friday evening, as firefighters are busy cleaning up a big mess left behind by an overturned gasoline tanker truck.

The accident happened about 2:45 in the eastbound lane of Highway 90, just east of Highway 63.

No one was hurt, but about 8,000 gallons of gas spilled onto the highway and into nearby ditches. Traffic was also backed up for more than an hour.

So far, no word on if the accident has caused any environmental damage. An investigation is underway.
