A group of South Mississippi Democrats is taking a stand to help the democratic party on the coast. Democratic supporters met Monday night to address key issues facing our nation.
They say finding ways to work out these issues can help democratic presidential candidate John Kerry win in November's presidential election.
Organizers think having group meetings like this could boost the democratic vote in Mississippi.
"We started our organization with five people, and it's built it up to about 100 now. The purpose of it is really to start to rebuild the Democratic Party in Mississippi and Jackson County," Jim Wilson said.
This group says the Republican Party is very influential in South Mississippi and hopes these meetings will get their views out, too.
If you would like to find out more about this group, they meet every first Monday of the month at the Ocean Springs Library at seven o'clock p.m.
