Man killed after 3 vehicle accident in Moss Point

Posted: Updated:
MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) -

Moss Point Police Chief Keith Davis said three vehicles were involved in an accident that left one man dead early Wednesday morning.

Davis said the man was driving a Lexus when he reportedly failed to stop at a red light as he turned left onto Saracennia Road to Hwy 63 just north of I-10 in Moss Point. After going through the red light, witnesses told police that the Lexus struck a Ford pick-up truck headed south on Hwy 63.

The Lexus was then forced into the east bound lane where the driver hit a Chevy pick-up truck that was stopped at the intersection, Davis said.

Davis said the Lexus bounced off of the truck and crashed into a pole.

According to Jackson County Coroner Vicki Broadus the man died while in surgery at Singing River Hospital around 6 a.m.

Broadus said the man's identity cannot be released until all of his family members are notified.

Moss Point Police Chief Keith Davis said the accident is being investigated. No other injuries have been reported.
