Biloxi Schools Investigation Halted

All that talk about a SACS investigation and potential problems for the Biloxi school district turned out to be a false alarm. The school district just found out it isn't being investigated.

After weeks of accusations and resignations, the investigation of the Biloxi school board has come to a halt.

School superintendent, Dr. Larry Drawdy, received a letter Friday from the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.

The independent accreditation agency has been reviewing school board activities since January 15th, but has decided not to probe any further.

Complaints about the school board interferring with day-to-day operation of Biloxi schools prompted the action.

The infighting that ensued led to the firing of the school board attorney Patti Golden, and the resignation of the school board president Rick Stewart.

Two weeks ago, everybody associated with Biloxi schools agreed to work together. That commitment of cooperation and harmony was pointed out in the SACS letter.
