GOP hopefuls know Mississippi matters

Good afternoon.  It's WLOX News Director Brad Kessie.  Have you been bombarded with robo calls in recent days?  I have.  The GOP presidential hopefuls put on a full-court press, trying to get Mississippians to support them.  Today, we learn which candidate was the most successful.

In a presidential election year when Mississippi truly matters, it's finally election day.  However, we're being told at polls across Mississippi, turnout is not very encouraging.  Steve Phillips visited a handful of coast precincts today to check out the party primaries.  You'll see his election day coverage on WLOX News at 6:00.

Of course, WLOX, and the WLOX app on your iPhones and Android devices are the best places to follow tonight's election results.

Besides watching the ballots be counted, we'll get comments from the three presidential hopefuls who spent so much time in the magnolia state.  And we'll get post-election analysis from Mississippi's GOP chairman.  Be sure to watch WLOX News at 10:00.

Did you hear about the abandoned newborn found at a Biloxi church?  We're being told the baby is now in the hands of the Department of Human Services.  We've also learned church members are trying to do what they can to comfort the child.  Look for Trang Pham Bui's story on WLOX News at 6:00.

You have to see tonight's A.J. Giardina Action Report.  A.J. got a tip that Pass Christian built a $550,000 fire station that's covered with mold, and uninhabitable.  He learned firemen were getting sick, and had to be moved out of the newly built fire house.  So, who's to blame?  And what's being done to get Pass Christian Fire Station #2 open again?  You'll find out on WLOX News at 6:00.
