Traffic being diverted after train cars derail in George County

GEORGE COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - George County Sheriff's deputies are diverting traffic at the area of Industrial Park Road in George County after a train accident on Sunday.

According to officials, no one was injured. Four train cars reportedly derailed off the tracks. Two of those train cars, carrying pulp wood, flipped on their sides and the other two, carrying paper, derailed off the tracks, but stayed upright.

Officials said the owner of the train cars is MS Exports out of Moss Point.

George County Sheriff's deputies are directing traffic towards the end of the last derailed train car on Industrial Park Road.

The derailment is still under investigation.
