Conference focuses on early childhood education

JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

The "Strengthening Our Connections" conference begins at 10:00 Wednesday morning at the Jackson State University e-Center.

The conference is hosted by a number of organizations, including SPARK Mississippi and The Children's Defense Fund-Southern Regional Office.

During the conference, participants will discuss the strides they've achieved in schools to make learning environments better for Mississippi's most vulnerable students.

The goal of the conference is to discuss ways to improve achievement rates for students who have the least amount of academic resources.

Children's Defense Fund Founder, Marian Edelman is the special guest speaker.

The conference has limited availability, but you can check it out via the web at https://www4.gotomeeting.com/register/753921775 or http://www.ustream.tv/channel/strengthening-our-connections-conference.
