JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - An overnight fire ripped through The Shed BBQ and Blues Joint on Highway 57 near Vancleave.  Several WLOX viewers emailed the television station to report the fire.  It was confirmed by the Jackson County Sheriff's Department and by a post on The Shed's Facebook page.

"Standing outside what was The Shed," the post started.  "The Shed has burned down stay tuned."

A second post from the company at 4:30 am said, "We are strong thanks to all our ShedHeds and fans.  We'll sort through this and won't miss a beat."

A third Facebook post from the Orrisons provided hope for their customers.  "SHEDHEDS! We WILL rebuild and we WILL start slingin some QUE! The Original Shed maybe be gone, but its alive and well in the hearts and bellys of everyone that walked through those doors over the last 10 years," they wrote.

According to the Fontainebleau Fire Chief Michael Belton, his team worked with Gulf Park Estates for eight hours to get the fire under control. Belton said there are still hot spots, and that firefighters will be out the entire day watching for flare ups.  He said The Shed's iconic structure is a total loss.

The Mississippi Forestry Commission was also called out to plow lines in the woods behind the shed.

Dozens of friends have been posting thoughts and prayers to the Orrisons, expressing their support for the family. "Unbelievable.  Speechless," wrote Kelli Bosarge.

Linda Orrison posted this message on The Shed's Facebook page at 10:00 Sunday morning.  "All these posts from our great friends are helping ease our pain. The Orrisons and The Shed aren't down, we're just a little singed. Many, actually hundreds of you are asking what you can do....you already are believe me....we are going to need any Shed memorabilia we can get our hands on and of course junk and we sure won't turn down anyone that shows up with a hammer in their hand. As you know so well any junk, license tag, etc. given to us over the years was cherished. We could feel your love even when you weren't there and we Thank you. MamaShed."

WLOX News will send a crew to Highway 57 to see what's left of The Shed. Look for video of the fire later in the day on WLOX News.
