New Orleans Saints Sign Running Back

NEW ORLEANS (AP) _ Aaron Stecker played for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the last four seasons. In his NFL career, he rushed for 402 yards on 101 carries and a touchdown while playing in 55 games, with two starts.

Stecker has 33 career receptions for 233 yards and two touchdowns. In 2003, he posted 125 rushing yards on 37 carries and caught nine passes for 48 yards and a TD.

``We went into the free agency period aiming to improve our depth at running back, and we have accomplished that goal with the signing of Aaron,'' said Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. ``He is a proven player who we can depend upon to take over at running back if needed or just to give Deuce a rest during a game. This is an important acquisition to us, and we're thrilled to have signed Aaron so quickly.''
