GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) - Gulfport Police believe the teenager killed in a hit and run early this week was not targeted. On Tuesday, the body of 15-year old Elisha Skinner was discovered in a ditch 34th Street.
Officials said Skinner was reportedly walking home from a family members home when she was struck.
In the investigation that followed, police arrested the victim's distant cousin Jermel Maurice Bogan.
According to Sgt. Matt Thomas, there is no evidence indicating that Bogan knew who the victim was at the time of the accident.
