GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -
A Satsuma, MS man died after an accident Monday night at the intersection of Highway 49 and Airport Road. According to Harrison County Coroner Gary Hargrove, 39-year-old Alan Turk Jr. was pronounced dead at around 6:50 p.m. from blunt force trauma.
Turk was riding a motorcycle on the southbound lane, when he was struck by a 1998 Dodge truck, traveling on the northbound lane. Officials said the Dodge truck crossed over a concrete divider onto the southbound lane and hit Turk's motorcycle and a Ford truck.
Gulfport Police arrested Jon Lynn Armstrong, 47, and charged him with one count of DUI causing death.
Police said Armstrong, who was found to be impaired, was the driver of the Dodge truck that caused the collision with the motorcycle and the Ford truck.
Armstrong was transported to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center. His bond was set at $200,000 by Judge Brandon Ladner.
