LONG BEACH, MS (WLOX) - When Marsha Garner isn't busy working at the South Mississippi Regional Center, you'll likely find her and her co-workers in a friendly, yet heated argument. It's no secret that most South Mississippians you run into root for the Saints. But you won't see Garner wearing the black and gold anytime soon.
"I'm dressed up today in my 49er gear because tomorrow is a big game," Garner said. "The 49ers will take down the New Orleans Saints!"
Even though the WHO DATs have won nine straight games, Garner's connection with her team of choice goes deeper than performance. You could almost say it's maternal instinct.
"I'm very excited today to be dressed in my gear and also supporting my son. Tramaine Brock #26 Cornerback coming for you!"
So whichever team walks away as the champs, one thing is for sure. Garner is not going down without a fight.
Brock is a native of Long Beach. He studied at the University of Minnesota and Belhaven, and was later signed as a free agent by the 49ers. This is his second year with the team.
