Posted: Updated:

South Mississippi Red Cross Hosts In-office Chapter blood drives on Friday 13th from 10 a.m.  - 3 p.m.
You can donate at the Pascagoula and Biloxi offices of the American Red Cross--1096 Jackson Avenue in Pascagoula and 2782 Fernwood Drive in Biloxi

To replenish blood supplies after the holidays and to help ensure patients needing blood transfusions in January will receive the lifesaving blood they require. Blood collections decrease over the long holiday season even though blood usage may increase making January one of the toughest times of year for the blood supply.

January is National Volunteer Blood Donor Month. Each presenting volunteer blood donor will receive a t-shirt; presenting donors will be automatically registered in the January drawing for two Delta Airlines tickets.

Blood donors must be 17 years old or older, weigh at least 110 pounds, be in general good health, and have not donated blood in the past 56 days or double red cells in the past 112 days. Eligible 16 year olds can donate with parental consent. Sixteen through 18 year olds must also meet specific height and weight requirements.

TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT:  Visit www.redcrossblood.org <http://www.redcrossblood.org/>  and use Sponsor code  ARCPASC (Pascagoula office) or ARCSOMS (Biloxi office)
