Behind the scenes look at Biloxi bomb scare

It's WLOX News Director Brad Kessie. We got a picture today from the scene of an overnight bomb scare. That scare was at the Best Western Oak Manor in downtown Biloxi. That picture caught my attention, because the only car in the parking this morning had the words "just married" in the back window. The honeymooners sure have quite a story to tell. They got evacuated from their hotel room because of what turned out to be a false report of a bomb in the building.

Another hotel guest used her cell phone to record the evacuation. Her commentary on the recording is priceless. She shared that video with us. And we posted it on You've got to click on the link and see what was happening while you were asleep. Danielle Thomas will have excerpts from the video on WLOX News at 5:00.

Let me take a minute to thank the WLOX viewer who saw an accident at Highway 90 and Highway 57 this morning. Chuck Domingues snapped a terrific picture of an overturned dump truck, and the dirt it spilled across the intersection. His second picture showed rescue teams assisting the truck driver. The only reason we got the breaking news to you, and got our photographers to the accident as quickly as we did is because Chuck alerted us to the wreck. By the way, we posted those pictures on, and we hope you'll take a look at them. Look for video of the wreckage on WLOX News at 6:00.

Remember the YouTube video we showed you from outside the Hard Rock Biloxi? That video captured a Biloxi police officer cursing at a casino patron. Today, we heard from Biloxi's police chief about the culmination of his investigation. To find out if the officer got reprimanded for what was seen and heard on the YouTube video, watch WLOX News at 6:00.

We posted a very simple question on the WLOX Facebook page. Who do you think will win the BCS Championship? LSU or Alabama? And we've already heard from 140 of you. Get in on the debate. Go to the WLOX Facebook page and show your allegiance.

By the way, we're just 656 likes away from 20,000. Do us a favor. Go to our Facebook page at and "like us." I'd love to see us cross the 20,000 barrier before the BCS title game.
