Posted: Updated:

Federal law enforcement agents are cracking down on a South Mississippi street gang. Two members of the Simon City Royals, and one person affiliated with the gang all pled guilty to various charges this week.

Brett Vincent Charbonneau, 24, of D'Iberville, pled guilty in federal court Monday to one count of conspiracy to manufacture methamphetamine. His sentencing is set for March 23, 2012. Charbonneau faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.

Guilty pleas were also entered in a separate witness tampering case.

Ervie Lee Fairbanks, 29, of Waveland, is a member of the Simon City Royals. Yvette Janel Hayden, 25, of Pass Christian, is a known affiliate of the gang. Both pled guilty Monday to one count of tampering with a witness.

The pair will remain in federal custody until their sentencing March 22, 2012. Like Charbonneau, they also face up to 20 years in prison.

Both cases were investigated by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
