Fewer than 10% of American women recognize that heart disease is their leading cause of death. While one in 29 woman die of breast cancer, one-in-two will die from heart disease. More women than men die from heart disease every year.
The American Heart Association wants more women to pay more attention to their hearts by promoting Go Red for Women.
You can help your heart and the heart of someone you love:
1. Wear red on National Wear Red Day for Women, Friday, February 6, or another convenient day.
2. Call 1-888-MY HEART to request a Go Red brochure and Red Dress pin, specially created to show support for women affected by heart disease.
3. Download the education materials and take charge of your heart health.
