Study Looks At Internet's Impact On Society

(Los Angeles-AP) -- It's one of the first major studies that have looked at the place the Internet has in our lives. And so far, it appears that some of the most dire predictions about changes the Internet would produce have not come to pass.

The UCLA study finds that nearly two-thirds of all Americans have spent at least a little time online. But most users said they didn't feel that the use of the Internet has created social isolation.

For instance, 75% of those surveyed said they didn't feel that they were being ignored by family and friends because they were spending too much of their time online.
