CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) - Eighty five more soldiers from the 185th Aviation Battalion returned home to Camp Shelby Sunday afternoon.

The Battalion has been in Northern Iraq for the past nine months providing aerial support with assault helicopters. The unit is based out of Tupelo and Jackson. They deployed last November to Fort Hood Texas for training before leaving for Iraq in February. Many family members, friends, and people who are grateful for the soldiers service were on hand to welcome them home.

The soldiers will spend the next few days out processing before returning to civilian life.

The remainder of the Battalion is expected to be home by the end of the month.
