Overnight Fire Destroys Gulfport Business

Gulfport firefighters had their hands full battling a stubborn fire at an Orange Grove business. The fire at Oak Manor Homes near Highway 49 and O'Neal Road broke out at about eleven last night.

Fire Chief Pat Sullivan says it took nearly 17 firefighters about 45 minutes to put the fire out. The business is destroyed. A police officer spotted the fire while on patrol.

No one was injured and the cause is under investigation.

    The Mississippi Highway Patrol is looking for a driver who ran away from the scene of a deadly crash in George County. Three children were killed in the crash. Troopers said a green 2003 Kia Optima was heading east on Highway 198, east of Depot Road, shortly before 4 p.m. on Saturday.
