A taste of country mixed with a little Cajun is the flavor at Cafe New Orleans in D'Iberville.
If the name sounds familar, there's a reason. Eleven years ago, the restaurant called Edgewater Mall home. Owner Troy Businelle then moved to Ocean Springs before finally settling down in D'Iberville.
"We've been here three years in January, and growing every since," Businelle said. "We have a good family atmosphere, a nice sit down comfortable restaurant. Something like a log cabin, country, Cajun theme."
The most recent addition to the cafe is the new Oyster Bar. But if oysters aren't for you, don't worry. There's plenty more to choose from like po-boys and Muffalattas.
"We have a Cajun menu. Everybody enjoys the Cajun Combo which includes the gumbo, crawfish etouffee, the shrimp Creole and the red beans and rice. You get a sample of all of them"
Another special is the Louisiana Latton, "which is a grilled fish over rice pilaf with a parmesan cheese. It's real good with white crawfish sauce on top."
If you eat lunch at Cafe New Orleans, you'll probably have your leftovers for dinner.
"Y'all won't have to eat for a week now."
Cafe New Orleans is located on Lamey Bridge Road in D'Iberville and is open Monday through Thursday from 11am until 9pm and Fri & Sat from 11am to 10pm.
