JACKSON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Thursday, the Jackson County District Attorney's office handed down indictments a murder for hire plot.
Adam Ray Dunn, Shanna Marie Bates, Christopher Michael Wildowsky and Melissa Compton are all being charged with conspiracy to commit capital murder and attempt to commit capital murder.
Dunn was arrested after being released from the hospital in January after what deputies say was a suicide attempt. A spokesperson with the Jackson County Adult Detention Center confirmed to WLOX News Dunn remains in the jail. The others were arrested in January and have since bonded out.
Dunn allegedly conspired with the others to hire a hit man to kill his ex-wife. Instead the hired hit man went to the woman's Gulf Park Estate home and alerted her to the plot.
Authorities say Dunn was already facing a rape and kidnapping charge filed by his ex-wife. They believe that may have been the motivation for hiring someone to kill her.
