East Central Hornets ready to bounce back under the win column

HURLEY, MS (WLOX) - Head coach Marcus High guided East Central to 4 consecutive wins before losing to Moss Point. The 4 victories surpasses the 3 total wins the Hornets posted in 2011.

High says, "The kids come out here. They know what they've trying to do. We haven't changed a whole lot of what we do offensively, defensively, weight training, practice schedules. Our kids come out everyday and play as hard as they can. That's all we ask from them."

East Central relies on a very good running game.  Antwon Wells has racked up 571 rushing yards with 6 touchdowns. He's netting 142 yards per game and 8-point-7 yards per carry.

Micah Fairley gives he Hornets another offensive weapon, having rushed for 263 yards and 4 touchdowns. He's averaging 7-point-3 yards per rush.

Quarterback Dalton Morrison runs the Hornets attack. He has 184 yards passing and is netting 5 yards a carry on the ground.

Defensively linebacker Drew Depperschmidt has a nose for the football, piling up 52 tackles. Linebacker Michael Scheiwe has 38 tackles, 2 sacks and returned a fumble for a touchdown against Vancleave.

The Hornets play in the solid Region 4-5A ranks and have remaining games against Pearl River Central Gautier, Pascagoula, West Harrison and Long Beach.

You can bet the Hornets will give a hundred-percent each and every time they hit the playing field.
