HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - William Carey University is planning to expand its course offerings in South Mississippi. The university is considering starting its first, completely online program at the Tradition campus in Harrison County.
William Carey leaders are still trying to determine what kind of undergraduate courses to offer. They say online programs are very popular, and they want to help students who want to finish their degree.
"It's what students want now. More and more students would like to have on online opportunity so they can study from home, and it's a lot more easier for them," said Jerry Bracey, Dean of William Carey's Tradition campus. "William Carey wants to provide educational opportunities to the coast and this community. That's needed. We want to find out what the needs are, and then meet those needs."
William Carey is inviting anyone who is interested in the program to attend a meeting next month. It's on Saturday, October 8, at the Tradition campus and starts at 10am.
