MOSS POINT, MS (WLOX) -

Driving too close. That simple, bad driving habit is what led to a big drug bust on Interstate 10 Monday morning near Highway 63.

Authorities with the Jackson County Criminal Interdiction Team stopped the vehicle on west bound I-10 near the 70 mile marker. Concealed inside the vehicle, they found 50 pounds of marijuana they say was headed for a house in Moss Point.

Later in the day, agents served a search warrant at the suspected drug house.

The driver, 29-year-old Cortez Lamond Croon, is charged with one count of Possession of a Schedule I controlled Substance, Marijuana, with the intent to distribute. He's being held at the Jackson County Adult Detention Center.

Anyone with information related to this investigation is asked to call the Narcotics Task Force of Jackson County at (228) 769-3302, or email at taskforcetips@cableone.net.

The Narcotics Task Force of Jackson County is comprised of officers from the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, Pascagoula Police Department, Gautier Police Department, Moss Point Police Department, the Ocean Springs Police Department and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics.
