NEW ORLEANS, LA (WLOX) - When Houston quarterback Matt Schaub and his host of offensive weapons charged out to a 10 to nothing lead, the sellout crowd in the Superdome got a little nervous.

Despite the Texans success in moving the football, the Saints defense kept Houston out of the end zone 4 out of the 5 times Houston got inside the 20.

Credit the New Orleans Saints in the red zone. They gave up field goals instead of touchdowns and that was the difference in the game.

Saints linebacker Scott Shanle said,"That was the reason for the win honestly. That first half they were moving the ball on us and to make them kick field goals. At a point you say man they're moving the ball on us, you look at the scoreboard and it's a one possession game. And that's what happens when you don't let teams cross your goal line."

Schaub passed for 373 yards and three touchdowns, but he couldn't lead the Texans under the win column, despite the Saints playing with only 3 linebackers due to injuries.

Saints linebacker Jonathan Casillas said New Orleans is a resilient group., "I think if we want to be a championship team, a championship caliber team we have to overcome adversity and we faced it today. We were down early, down late and we overcame it and we got the win."

Drew Brees proved once again he's the leader. He passed for 370 yards and three touchdowns, leading New Orleans to 4 touchdowns and a pair of two-point conversions in the second half, a 40 to 33 victory.

The New Orleans Saints will become road Warriors for the next three weeks beginning at Jacksonville next Sunday.
