BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Coast law enforcement agencies are searching for two inmates who escaped Wednesday night from the Harrison County Youth Detention Center.
Officials said five inmates were in the exercise yard at the time of the escape. They said one inmate distracted the guard, allowing two others to escape through holes they made in a chain-link fence. The teens then climbed over a 6-foot fence to get away.
Authorities will not release the escapees' names or pictures because they are juveniles, but say they know exactly who they are looking for.
Earlier this month, the Youth Detention Center was forced to lockdown after a teen picked a locked door with a toothbrush. Officials did say the inmate involved in that incident was not involved in this latest trouble.
