HANCOCK COUNTY, MS (WLOX) -
A tip from a concerned citizen helped Hancock County Sheriff's deputies catch one man and one woman suspected of stealing air conditioning units.
The department received a call Monday around noon about some suspicious activity on South Street in Bayside Park. A deputy who arrived on the scene saw two people dismantling air conditioning units, which with the help of Bay St. Louis Police, were eventually identified as units recently stolen from the 603 Plaza located at Highway 603 and Bayou LaCroix Rd.
The two suspects, Jason Lee Hupp, 36, and Mia Recile, 33, both of Bayside Park were charged with Grand Larceny by Bay St. Louis Police Detectives. Both were given a $10,000 bond.
The Hancock County Sheriff's Office has pending charges on both suspects for receiving stolen property.
"We're very thankful of the concerned citizen that called in this complaint," said Investigator John Luther of this case.
