BILOXI, MS (WLOX) - Despite the sluggish economy, recent statistics from the Mississippi Casino Operators Association show that coast casino revenues on the coast actually improved in 2010.
- Gulf Coast 2010 - $1.1 Billion
- Mississippi 2010-$2.39 Billion
The recent upswing marks an end to seven consecutive quarterly declines dating back to 2008.
This increase comes despite a nationwide recession, ongoing Katrina recovery and the BP oil spill.
Unfortunately, the state hasn't been as lucky. The report says the overall revenues for Mississippi dropped by nearly three percent since last year.
