Harrison Co. supervisors talk changes to ambulance and jail

HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - There's a chance Harrison County may change its ambulance provider. It may also hire new firms to serve food and provide medical needs at the county jail.

The possible change comes after today's board meeting, supervisors decided to rebid each of the county's private contracts.

WLOX News has learned the companies that submit the best bids next month will be offered four year contracts.

That's a change from the year-to-year contracts currently offered. The ambulance service contract, the juvenile detention center contract, the courthouse security contract, and two jail contracts will all be open for bid.
