HARRISON COUNTY, MS (WLOX) - Biloxi's fight to annex more area cleared a hurdle this week. A judge dismissed opposition by Harrison County that would have required the city to annex 163 square miles of a utility district, instead of just the 7.6 miles the city wants.
The county argued the city couldn't take just part of a utility district. But the judge ruled that notion as "clearly unconstitutional."
Biloxi leaders praised the decision as protecting the city's path of future growth.
