GULFPORT, MS (WLOX) -
Neighbors adjacent to the Naval Construction Battalion Center (Seabee Center), as well as on base residents, may hear gun fire coming from the base over the next few days.
Base officials want everyone to know there is no need to be alarmed as it is part of a battalion exercise on the north side of the base from approximately 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sept. 8-10 and the Seabee Mud Run, Sept. 10. The rounds which are being fired are blanks, contain no projectiles and are muzzled.
Local law enforcement has been notified. Anyone with questions or concerns can call the base Public Affairs Office at (228) 871-2699.
