Tropical Storm Lee Stationary in Gulf

SOUTH MISSISSIPPI (WLOX) - Rain and gusty wind are making driving hazardous in South Mississippi. Officials are advising people if they don't have to get out in this mess to stay inside and off the roads. Highway 90 in particular has water and sand covering parts of it. The city of Gulfport declared a State of Emergency just after noon on Saturday.

The National Hurricane Center's latest update has Tropical Storm Lee stalled just south of Louisiana, located at 29.3N 91.8W with maximum sustained winds of 60 mph.

A tropical storm warning is in effect from the Alabama/Florida border to Sabine Pass Texas.

There is also a river flooding warning from Harrison County EMA. Officials say the Biloxi River is supposed to crest on Sunday, September 4 at 7:00 PM. It will crest at 17 feet. That's five feet above flood state.
